Problem
In the Direct Routing page, Licenses can show up with negative numbers and the message “Expired. Renew in Admin Center.” This means Microsoft is presenting your account licenses as no longer manageable.
Solution
When you utilize “free licenses” or you do not renew existing licenses, they will eventually show up as expired. Usually within 30 days of expected expiration date. You are required to add licenses in order to correctly configure direct routing.
